Dr Sam Cartwright
Sam comes to us from a background in the nature conservation sector. She is delighted to have joined us as Partnership Director, following five years with the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust where she was most recently the Head of Wider Countryside Conservation for the three counties, and the chair of Berkshire Local Nature Partnership.
She has collaborated with local government, statutory bodies and NGOs to move nature up the policy agenda and get results on the ground. Sam is excited to now be leading the BFP in its journey towards a sustainable food system for Buckinghamshire and will ensure that together the Partnership is a force for positive change across all aspects of the food system.
Sam has a doctorate in ecology and spent several years in Mauritius for her field research. She has also been involved with wildlife conservation and research programmes in Uganda, Djibouti, and in Britain. She lives in the Buckinghamshire Chilterns and can often be found running in the local hills.
